“The two most important days in your life are the day you are born and the day you find out WHY.” – Mark Twain
It is approaching the third month of 2018. What have you been doing thus far to achieve your goals? This is usually the time when resolutions get placed on the back burner and many throw in the towel. But the year is still very young. You can still set goals if you have not done so already. You can still write that book, start that blog, or start your own business. Do not let fear, or anything for that matter, hinder you from making moves this year. You must take the initiative to mold and develop into the person you desire to be.
I have a quick exercise to share and I take no credit for it. It was shared at a women’s workshop I attended a few weeks ago and thought it to be helpful. It entails two steps and will take you only two minutes to complete. You will need a timer (there should be one on your phone), a pen/pencil, and a blank sheet of paper. You may also opt to using the free printable I have attached down below.
Ready? Let’s go!
Step one: Set your timer for one minute. Proceed to write down all the things that you currently have in your life (as much as you can in the minute).
Step two: Set your timer for one minute once again. This time, make a list of all the things you want in your life.
When you have completed both lists, take a few seconds and read over what you wrote. The second list, your list of wants, represents your ‘WHY’. Your ‘WHY’ list is (more than likely) the reason you get up out of bed. It represents why you set goals and grind to achieve them. You can further expound on these wants to get a clearer picture of why you do the things you do on a daily, the reason you push yourself to break bad habits and form good ones. You can’t give up now. You’re just getting started. Keep aiming high lovelies.
Here is a free printable you can use to make your lists. Enjoy 🙂 ‘WHY’ Worksheet
